Purity tests work because a number is easy to screenshot. The score is not a moral grade, a résumé, or a secret personality scan. It is a playful way to compare stories, harmless chaos, and the wildly different things friends consider normal.
What a purity score actually measures
Different purity tests ask different questions, so scores are not interchangeable. One test may care about spontaneous adventures; another may be much more personal. Glowly’s version stays broadly PG-13 and treats the result as a conversation starter.
That means a low score is not a flex and a high score is not a prize. The only useful question is whether the result gives your group chat something funny to talk about.
Why people share their score
A score gives a group a low-pressure prompt: compare answers, tell the story behind one answer, or challenge a friend to take the same quiz. It works best when nobody is pressured to explain anything they do not want to explain.
The screenshot is the product. Keep the tone curious, not competitive.
Make it a friend challenge
Take the score, send it to a friend, then make a quiz for them. A friend challenge is more interesting than asking who is the most chaotic person in the group — and it gives everyone a chance to be surprisingly wrong.
